Thank you! ... ;-D

[edit]

Dear Stephen and Tony,
Thank you both for your help with this article today; I am wondering, though: were we all watching Talking Pictures TV at noon today?! ... Keep well and joyful.
With kind regards;
Patrick. ツ Pdebee.(talk)(become old-fashioned!) 15:21, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I wasn't watching it, but did see your user page edit re Sailing Along. I wonder why Jack Whiting has no article... Always a pleasure to cross paths with you, Patrick. Cheers, Tony. Tony Holkham (Talk) 15:28, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks, Tony; always a pleasure for me too! Like you, I had noticed the missing article on Jack Whiting and thought it would be good to consider drafting one in the near future, especially since I have been a bit AWOL here during the past few months... I will give it more thought and see what transpires. Please keep well, Tony.
With kind regards;

Patrick I looked through Whiting (surname) and wondered whether any of them were Jack Whiting, as people often had to change their name when another actor had already registered it with Equity. Just a thought. Tony Holkham (Talk) 16:26, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And one further thought - a quick search suggests he may have been in quite a few films, so certainly worth his own article if you can find a bio. Tony Holkham (Talk) 16:30, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks for your interest in this, Tony; yes, I was intending to carry out the usual Sherlock Holmes research (through my pile of books about actors/actresses) to ensure the resulting article would cover the right person. Of course, I am hopeful to find enough useful sources. I’ll contact you again once I have made a start, Tony, unless you would rather have a go at drafting this new article yourself? In which case, I’d be very happy to give way should you wish to take the lead, Tony. I am on a kind of Wiki break at the moment, anyway, so just let me know your preference, and we’ll go with that.
With kind regards;

Happy for you to do it, Patrick. Not editing very much myself at the moment. Best, Tony Tony Holkham (Talk) 18:24, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks, Tony; will do, and keep you posted on progress or otherwise. Until then, please keep well and joyful. With kind regards;

Yes I was watching on Talking Pictures..the previous plot summary did not make sense as it implied the fathers adopted daughter wanted to marry his son... which would be a very odd plot indeed... the different surnames in the cast list indicated this was incorrect. The difficulty in plot summaries is that they seem to be often written by someone who didn't see the film hhh--Stephencdickson (talk) 15:34, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Stephen; what fun! I love these old B&W films and this one is scheduled for a repeat on Thursday, so I’ll be recording/watching it from beginning to end. Thank you once again for fixing the plot! Please keep well.
With kind regards;

Dear Tony and Stephen,
Hoping you're both keeping well? Delighted to report that, after three months of drafting, the required article on Jack Whiting (actor) was finally moved into article main space today!  Done
Thank you for your initial suggestion, Tony, as I thoroughly enjoyed creating this article!
With kind regards;

What an amazing job you have done there, Patrick. Much better than C class in my view. Best wishes, Tony. Tony Holkham (Talk) 15:30, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks for your kind words, Tony. Let's see what other editors will decide, as I'm too close to the thing to be impartial enough. Please keep well!
With kind regards;
